  Please note that I also accept debit / credit cards and offer a very convenient and affordable car delivery to your door.    Welcome to my auction for this lovely BMW 316i SE Touring, finished in Jet Black with anthracite interior and with 5 speed manual gearbox.   It was first registered in June 2003 on a “03″ plate, it’s covered just over 121K miles and comes with new MOT until end of May 2010 and full (mostly BMW) service history.   The generous ”SE” spec includes Air Conditioning with climate control, Reverse parking sensors, Cruise control, Alloy wheels, Metallic paint, Fog lamps, ABS, Airbags, ASC Traction control, Electric windows and mirrors, BMW CD stereo, Alarm, Remote central locking with window closure, arm rests, rear head rests, load cover, luggage net etc…

This is the facelifted E46 3 series and is a great driving machine and a very practical family car - certainly an excellent all-rounder. It is superb to drive, quiet and very comfortable even on longer motorway runs. The interior is well thought out and numerous seat and steering wheel adjustments help for a great driving position. These cars are capable of covering very high mileages and the top quality materials are durable and hard wearing. The range in general also has a very good NCAP safety score and is equipped with ABS, ASC traction control, driver, passenger and side airbags, side impact bars, seat belt tensioners etc etc.   The 1.8 litre 16 valve engine outputs respectable 115 Bhp. This engine is chain driven so there are no timing belt replacements to worry about. This unit is quite frugal as well returning realistic 40-42 MPG on longer runs.

History: This 316i has great provenance and started it’s life in company ownership owned by Kraft Foods and based in Cheltenham. It covered most of it’s miles up and down UK’s motorways and in April 2007 was sold to it’s second and last keeper – based in Cambridgeshire. The engine always starts at the turn of the key and is free from leaks, rattles, vibrations or smoke. The manual gearbox, clutch, suspension and power steering all work fine. All brakes have plenty of lining left and the car drives very well inded, has plenty of power and all electrics and equipment work without fault.   Bodywork and wheels

As I hope you can see from the images, the bodywork is still in very good condition. As with any used car, especially a motorway mileage one it is not and it can’t be 100% perfect so being very critical you can find some stone chips on the bonnet and grille, several tiny scratches around the door handles, one small paint blemish on the bonnet and a couple of other very minor marks. Apart from these insignificant imperfections the car looks great and is very clean, straight and shiny.
Tires and wheels

All four tires are good quality and matching Avon ZV3. The front ones have around 6mm thread and the rears are even better with around 6-7mm thread each. The spare is a smaller size space saver and also in excellent condition. The multi spoke alloy wheels are in very good condition and have only minor kerbing marks on the edges. Interior

The anthracite upholstery is very nice and clean and you will never be able to guess the mileage of the vehicle just by looking at this pristine interior. The only (and these are minor) signs of wear I can see are some tiny marks on the driver’s door card and really are to be expected on a six year old car.   The carpets have been protected by genuine carpetmats (not pictured) and are in excellent almost as-new condition. The ashtrays and cigarette lighter appear unused and there are no signs of a dog anywhere. A clean boot trim also tells me that the car hasn’t “worked” carrying heavy stuff. There are no rips or tears anywhere and there isn’t any missing or broken switchgear or trim.

The electronic controlled Air Conditioning is ice cold and all other electrical equipment works fine including the displays, heating, stereo, electric mirrors, windows and central locking plus PDC, alarm and remote opening / closing of the windows. Customer expectations – please read: Do bear in mind that this BMW is not new anymore. Six years and 121K miles have passed since it left the factory and it can’t be 100% perfect. Please do not expect a brand new car and you will not be disappointed. This still is a very nice, clean and reliable estate, which can be used for a long time and will provide its new owner and his family with a lot of comfortable trouble free miles for little cash. New this 316i SE Touring must’ve cost over ?20000, the CAP guide currently values the vehicle at over ?5100 and on some garage forecourts similar cars will probably be priced up to ?5995 so there is a great saving to be made here.
