Because of a change in circumstances my Smart car has to be sold to make way for a larger car. I am its third owner and have had it a little over 2 years. It has just had a full service and MOT YES IT HAS A FULL 1 YEAR MOT The tax runs out end of September, but it costs ?35 for a year, YES, 35 pounds for a whole year INSURANCE for me FULL COM (50 year old female with clean licence) is ?128 pounds. Last year it had two new rear tyres, a new front headlamp and a new clutch actuator all supplied and fitted by Mercedes Lakeside . This year I have just paid ?1800 and had fitted: new plugs and leads, Brand new steering wheel (alignment sensor fault on old one), Brand new turbo and manifold, New exhaust system, New rear brake shoes and adjusters. All supplied and fitted by Motoraid, Mercedes division in Hainault Although this work has been carried out the car has never once broken down or not started, all these repairs were spotted during servicing or MOT. No expense has been spared for this great little car. I have all invoices/receipts for work carried out and all paperwork is in order. It is nippy around town and zippy on the motorway and happily does 70 but it will do no more than 85mph as it is restricted, but as the speed limit is 70mph on the motorway this should not be a problem! Its clever too, it will let you know whether to change up or down if it is not happy. For safety you cant beat it as you are sitting inside a tridion safety cell, and every one I have ever taken in it is surprised by the amount of room inside. I LOVE MY SMART, and will shed a tear when it goes, but I need to drive my grandchildren about more now so it’s not practical so I will replace my dearly beloved Smart with an estate car, till grandkids are grown and I can get another Smart. There is a small a small surface crack on the front nearside. Its about 5 ins long, tried to take photo but you cant really see it very well, it does not need replacing.
