2002 VAUXHALL ASTRA 16V COMFORT DUAL FUEL LPG BARGAIN! @ Astra

Bargain ‘Trade in’. Therefore TRADE SALE ON. Nice original Vauxhall Bi Fuel Petrol or LPG (this is FACTORY MODEL as proven by log book. NOT an after market version add on). I’d not driven an LPG before until this and to be honest I was surprised how comparable performance is with petrol. Anyway, I won’t go on about how good LPG is. The maths say it all LPG is at present approx 50p PER LITRE!! Found out the facts from: http://www.lpg-cars.co.uk/faq/ So, back to car shown in pictures. It was a trade in and has some good and bad as usual which I will endevour to list below. Only details I am aware of and am happy to discuss. Mobile 07800 601026. Service history (7 stamps) and invoices (new front disks and pads May 2009). All books including LPG extra docs. ALL old MOT’s Two owners from new. Well maintained and kept ‘nice’. Clean car throughout. Not yet valeted or engine jet washed etc. to look like new! This is as it was so all original to show appreciated by owners. 4xGood tyres. Alloys are n ice with only few kerbs but not usual bubbling on mass! Interior is clean and presentable. Does not look like it has done the mileage. Updated dials are nicer than earlier Astra. Nice high spec with airconelectric windows etc. but CD player will need decoding as it was changed for other system which owner has kept but lost radio security card! Can be re-set or just put in your own model. Fuel guage works properly in either petrol or LPG mode. Drives on LPG with no known problems. BAD BITS! THAT IS WHY IT IS CHEAP! Should be easy fix and loads of money saved. PLEASE, no silly offers. If it does not sell I will sort out and sell for proper money! You are more than welcome to come and tinker as long as you know what you are doing!!! Call me to discuss before auction ends. It is not running very well on PETROL! Starts OK and changes to LPG but if you change it to petrol it feels like is being staved of fuel! The engine light stays on after starting which could be caused by any of the following. I’ve been on webchat forums and have a host of contenders to resolve: A similar description to my fault had the following reply: It sounds from your description that there is a fault with the evaporative emissions system which briefly consists of a charcoal canister,a fuel tank vent valve and interconnecting vapour pipes.If the vent valve or wiring to it is at fault the engine management warning light would normally illuminate,dfg. Others have suggested: Fuel filter, EGR valve sticking, Coil pack etc. As it is running on LPG fine, it is not the engine but something ancillary. I will check connections etc sometime but if I fix it then the price goes way up!  Few dings scratches but again not bad considering mileage. Mileage 145k! DON’T FORGET. Service history and that LPG is a much cleaner fuel so engine is expected to last a lot longer than petrol equivalant. Again, reflected in price. Some paint bubbling around LPG filler (easy hide with alloy cover?). Stone chips to front bumper. Chip in screen. Any questions please call me.
