TVR Chimaera, 4 Litre V8 45k miles, 1996 P- Reg Starmist Marsala Red (light plum red) Half leather magnolia interior with mulberry red carpets (including spare set of front carpets) Power steering Toad Insurance approved Cat1 Alarm/Immobiliser 6 months Tax, 11 months MOT, and has just been serviced. Suspension and brake upgrades, see below   This is my pride and joy which I?ve owned for over 10 years. Sadly it has to go to help build a deposit for a house. This is a true British hand build sports car which I?ve thoroughly enjoyed owning.    History I?m the cars second owner, having bought the car when it was about 3 years old. The car has been totally reliable, having been serviced and maintained meticulously with no regard to cost. It was serviced by the factory for the first 4 years, then with main line dealers and more recently with highly regarded TVR specialists. I have lots of paperwork and a fully documented history.   I?ve also spent thousands on upgrading the suspension and brakes over the last couple of years, two areas where the standard kit is widely regarding as lacking particularly compared to todays sports cars. The car drives fantastically. Every time it goes in for a service I get comments from whoever test drove it telling me how great it feels. Most recently at Str8 Six where I had to wait while two of the staff took it out for a spin! It?s well known that TVRs differ drastically from one car to another, but you won?t find an example that drives better than this.   Due to the age of the car it’s now eligible for classic insurance. The upgrades have made no difference to the insurance as they are deemed to make the car safer. I currenly pay only ?240pa. Also as TVRs are a low volume manufacturer they were never rated for CO2 output and so are simply classed as PLG. 12 months tax is only ?120!   The car has never been in any kind of accident, nor has it been tracked or raced. The wheels and bodywork are all totally original so are showing some stone chips on the bonnet lip. Sadly there are also a couple of scuffs on the front of the bonnet, and a scratch on the passenger side sill. Also the wing mirror arms are flaking slightly which is common to TVRs. These can all be seen from the pictures.   Underneath the car is sound, having been waxoyled regularly since new. The car will stand up to any inspection.   Please note that although the car has done about 45k miles in total, the speedo only shows 3k miles as it was replaced. I have main line dealer documentation for this, and all the MOT certificates showing mileage.    Upgrades Racing Red shock absorbers and springs: A relatively new product, considered to be Nitron quality but better suited to road use. Easily adjustable to your driving style and preference simpy by turning a collar by hand. These really transformed the handling and body control of the car. Google ?racing red shocks TVR? for info and reviews   Brakes: Front: Hi Spec 4 Pot Calipers, EBC Grooved 285mm discs, EBC Greenstuff pads, braided hoses Rear: EBC Grooved discs, EBC Greenstuff pads, braided hoses Hugely improved power and decreased stopping distances. Standard brake bias is improved due to the larger front discs and callipers. Coupled with the suspension upgrade the car is remarkably stable and sure footed under heavy braking which gives the driver total control and confidence.   Interior Leven aluminium switch gear including indicator stalks, steering wheel rake adjuster, steering wheel screws, heater controls and handbrake handle. Much of the standard kit is cheap black plastic which was out of place amongst the leather, wood and aluminium of the rest of the interior. I?ve also added stainless steel kick plates on the door sills with the TVR logo on them.   Sadly the wood veneer on the dash has delaminated in a couple of places, but its reasonably simple to replace and there are many replacement products available ranging from wood, stainless steel and even carbon fibre.    Kenwood Radio/CD head unit and 10 disk autochanger in the boot. There are two 6.5? infiniti speaker units in the original door location, with tweeters stuck to the door panel above. Admittedly these don?t look great, and ideally should be sunk into the door panel, but I didn?t want to cut into the door so have just stuck them on with velcro. A lot of people cut holes for 6? x 9? two ways into the back panel which is a relatively easy job, but I?ve tried not to do anything which couldn?t be reverted back to standard. If you want to drive a car like this with the radio on rather than listening to the wonderful V8, this isn?t the car for you!     Contact Me…  I?ve given  a fully detailed and accurate description of the car, pointing out all the good stuff but also the areas that could be improved. I don?t want to waste anyones time so please don?t waste my time. If you’re genuinely interested contact me for a viewing. The best time to call is in the evening after 7.30pm. Payment method by paypal, or other methods by negotiation but generally I will want cleared funds in my account before releasing the car.   Tel ? 07747 777969 Email ? marcus.nash@hotmail.co.uk.
