1992 VW MK1 GOLF GTI RIVAGE CABRIOLET GREEN RARE!!! @ Golf/Rabbit

This is your chance to purchase a real classic VW!!! Limited Edition, Very rare collectable unmodified car in good condition. There is no rust on this car whatsoever. Full service history Inc all invoices, mots, receipts etc. MOT’d until January & Taxed until end of November.  Regarded as a 1993 model year cabriolet, it is one of the last of the original MK1 shape available. To commemorate the end of this shape cabriolet, VW introduced two special editions in the UK. Firstly the Sportline available in red or black with Recaro cloth seats and black BBS wheels.  The other special edition was the Rivage. This too was only available in two colours. Classic Green and Classic Blue with either blue cloth trim or cream leather. The Rivage came with the most options to the MK1 including heated seats, electric windows,roof and aerial, leather steering wheel,handbrake and gear knob, Sony stereo and polished forged alloy wheels. The Rivage was a UK market only model. Similar spec cars were available in mainland Europe but called the Classic Line. Nearly seventeen years on, they are certainly a very rare sight. To find an original, unmolested one like this one is a real find. Only 500 Rivage’s were ever made, most Rivage’s that are still on the road are in Classic Blue coachwork, but you will not find a Classic Green one like this for sale anywhere. To avoid wasting your time and mine, I have listed the bad points as well as the good points of the car below: The car is in great condition, but is not mint. All Rivage’s bought from new were sold with Le Casselet style alloys. When I bought the car it came with a set of 5 spoke ’100+’ alloys in poor condition, so I replaced these with a set of 15″ BBS alloys and had these refurbished. although these are not original, they look fantastic and give the car the ‘GTI look’. There is a very small dent on the passenger door as shown in the pictures attached.  Those that are familiar with Mk1 style Golf’s will know the petrol filler pipes suffer from corrosion as the original OEM part is not stainless steel. In February this year the filler pipe was replaced with a stainless steel one, and the fuel tank was taken off the car and re-laquered. A service was completed at the same time. After this work was completed I also paid for the car to be tuned. It was noted at this point that injector no.4 was ‘spitting’ fuel rather than injecting smoothly, so although it does not directly affect the running of the car, it could do with being replaced at some point. Since I have owned the car I have also replaced the fuel pump, accumilator, fuel filter and the car has had a new exhaust system. All tyres are in a roadworthy condition with a decent amount of tread on them. Electric roof works perfectly, however there are a few nicks in the roof. Although the car has done 150,000 miles, its first owner had it as a company car so most of the mileage it has clocked up is motorway mileage. Since I bought the car 2 years ago it has only done approximatley 6k. The car is used daily to & from work (1/2 mile away) and starts first time, every time. MFA does not work, but the time is still shown on the display. Heated seats do not work, but this may just be a fuse or something simple as I have never attempted to fix it. Upholstery is in average condition for the cars age, looks slighty worn but there are no tears, rips, etc. Previous owner replaced the original radio head unit, there is currently a Kenwood CD / MP3 player in place. The following items will also be included in the sale: Tonneau roof cover Set of Italic number plates, bought previously but never put on the car. Spare VW badge for front of car, spare spark plugs & leads The car also has a 6 disc multichanger in the boot fitted by the previous owner. This has not worked since I have owned the vehicle, but again I have not attempted to fix it. Please note you are bidding to buy, not to look.
